Virtual machine monitor, or hypervisor, by Microsoft. Using Hyper-V offers the advantage of a unified set of integrated management tools for physical, virtual, and cloud environments with a single console view. The combined use of a Microsoft hypervisor, a Microsoft server and a Microsoft operating system ensure maximum reliability and efficiency.

In EPAM Cloud, Hyper-V is used in the EPAM-KZ1 region.

Software, hardware or firmware creating and running virtual machines. Hypervisors are also called virtual machine monitors. Hypervisor runs on a computer serving as the host machine. Multiple virtual machines, called guest machines, run on the virtual operating platform provided by the hypervisor and share virtualized hardware resources.

In EPAM Cloud VMware ESX and VMwareESXi perform the hypervisor functions.

The Docker service uses hypervisors as the virtual machine hosting containers.
